Tunturi Exercise Bikes

Tunturi stationary bikes are extremely popular in Europe, which isn't surprising as they are made in Finland and now they are becoming more popular in the U.S. A Tunturi exercise bike isn't cheap but you are getting a piece of exercise equipment that is extremely well-made with one of the best warranties in the industry and has the best display console of any exercise bike.

A unique feature of Tunturi exercise bikes is the ergometer function that displays your effort level and gives detailed feedback on a variety of data during exercise. This is really useful and allows you to get the best from your workout whether you're a first time user of exercise bikes or a seasoned pro.

Tunturi exercise bicycles are feature-rich and the display makes reading, setting and understanding feed back easy. There are two main types of display available; T-Ride and T-Road.

The T-Ride display is fitted on more basic ergometer Tunturi bikes. The 3.8" color LCD display tracks speed, distance, time, heart rate, energy consumption and effort. There are a number of landscape programs where slope affects the training intensity. Greater effort is needed going uphill, but where the Tunturi exercise bike really is unique, is that when going downhill, you get exactly the same response as you would expect when cycling downhill outdoors.

The T-Road (pictured left) is fitted on the more high-end models of Tunturi stationary bikes. The 7" color LCD displays the workout program as a real life, outdoor video stream. The video is perfectly synchronized with the intensity changes of the program.

Tunturi Upright Exercise Bike

There are a number of different models available starting with the entry-level Tunturi F20, progressing through the F30, E40, E45, E60, E80 to the E85 (pictured below). The cost of a Tunturi upright bike starts at around $500 up to $2,500 for the Tunturi E85. Different models come with different features; the more expensive machines have the most features - as you would expect.

The E85 is the same as the E80 except that it comes with a sportier seating position with an angled stem and race style handlebars.

Tunturi Recumbent Exercise Bike

The are currently two models; the Tunturi E40R and E60R. The top-of-the-range E60R retails for around $1,000. Its main features are;

Motivational 8 scalable workout profiles and 8 user profiles to suit individual fitness goals
T-Scale™ allows editing and adjustment of the pre-set profiles even when exercising
Handgrip pulse measurement or Polar® wireless heart rate measurement
Electronically controlled brake that produces a wide effort range and enables the exercise settings to be easily changed whilst training

The warranties on all Tunturi exercise bikes is exceptional. Each exercise bike comes with a 15 year manufacturer’s frame warranty and all other components are covered with a 2 years parts and labor warranty. Should your Tunturi exercise bike breakdown, an engineer will visit and carry out any repairs. This is much more desirable than a 'return to base' policy and clearly demonstrates the company's faith in its product.
